Bro. Aaron & Ms. Bethany Patton
Bro. Aaron, Dean of Students, grew up in North Carolina. Despite growing up in both a good home and church, around the age of 11, he fell in with the wrong crowd and began getting into trouble including gang activity, drugs, and alcohol. At the age of 13, he was kicked out of school and his mom made the difficult decision to send him to a boy’s home. While at the home, the Lord graciously saved his soul and turned his life around.
Once departed from the boys' home, he went on to serve in the United States Marine Corps. After serving his time in the military, he relocated to Indiana to marry his wife, Bethany.
While there, he served as an active member in his church in various roles, and also worked as a local police officer for 7 years. He surrendered to the call to preach in 2013 and God later called him and his family to serve as missionaries at the boys home that he was in himself 17 years prior.
Ms. Bethany was born and raised in the state of Indiana and was raised a pastor’s daughter. She was gloriously saved at the age of 16, and is grateful to be serving the Lord in this unique, and much needed ministry with her husband and their five children, Naomi, Moriah, Malachi, Zipporah, and Nehemiah.
Through a series of Divine appointments, the Lord allowed our paths to cross with Bro. Patton’s once again and the Lord meshed our hearts together almost immediately. The Lord made it clear that this is where He desires for them to be and we are grateful to have them here, serving alongside us.
Bro. Kurt & Ms. Leah Russell
Bro. Kurt, Property Manager, grew up in Southwest GA. He lived most of his childhood and teenage years in a broken home. As early as 11 years old, he began to follow in his father’s footsteps, using drugs and alcohol and living a life steeped in sin. With his father not around much, and mom always working to provide for him and his two older brothers, it was easy to seek attention elsewhere and get away with wrongdoing.
After wasting nearly 14 years of his life in sin, the Lord, in His longsuffering, graciously saved him on April 12, 2020, and placed him in a wonderful home church (Lighthouse Baptist Church, Plains, GA), where he could grow in Christ with sound Bible teaching. (His father was also saved in this church in 2008). Bro. Kurt soon began serving in the church wherever doors were open. The Lord called him to preach in October of 2021, gave him a beautiful, godly wife in October of 2022, and called him and his family to the mission field to help the young men here at Still Waters in November of 2025.
Mrs. Leah was born and raised in East Tennessee. A preacher's daughter, she grew up in a godly home and received Christ as her personal Saviour at the age of 10. Mrs. Leah is eternally grateful for God’s faithfulness throughout her life, as well as the opportunity to serve at Still Waters with her husband and children, Kamdyn, Luke, and Ava.
We are thrilled to have them here serving the Lord alongside us, and are so thankful for the Lord's perfect timing and provision in sending them our way!
